Traditions for the Christmas Season

We are so excited to be celebrating the birth of our Savior once again! This year, as Noah is already 19 months old, I’ve been thinking of traditions that I would like to have for our family. One idea I recently came upon was the old traditional chain around the tree made out of construction paper. The twist on it was that each chain had a name written on it of people to pray for. Each day, you take one chain off, and pray for that person specifically. What a great way to continually remind us all to pray for others as we lead up to Christmas. Do you have some great traditions? If so, I’d love for you to post some so we can share some ideas.

Kimberly, What a great idea! We\’re doing several things with our boys this holiday season. One that I\’m enjoying is a great book called Jotham\’s Journey ( and it\’s been such a fun story to read each night with the boys. We are trying to do something each day for someone else (bring a neighbor their mail or paper, shovel a driveway, bake something for someone else, visit an elderly neighbor, make a craft for someone special, etc.) so we keep our focus on others and not ourselves! (as much as possible!)

I\’m SO excited for your new baby coming very soon! How wonderful! We really do need to get together – especially now that we live closer!

Thanks for visiting my blog – I appreciate your comments on the JOY – that would be fun to do together!

I LOVE your family photo you sent with your Christmas letter. Noah is PRECIOUS! I love his eyes and sweet face.

    Take care and Merry Christmas!
