Hawaii

What a great trip this was! We went with my parents and stayed in a nice 2 bedroom condo on the Big Island. We stayed on the Kona side. The following pictures are of: Pearl Harbor (from the airplane), gorgeous sunsets, a luau, fun in the sun and a beautiful botanic garden over on the Hilo side. I was about 20 weeks pregnant with Noah and still sick quite often – so we just had a really nice relaxing time. It really was beautiful there.

Alaska

Who forgets to bring their camera when going to Alaska! We actually had to buy a disposable while up there!

Kimberly had a business trip up to Anchorage, Alaska in the fall of 2006. As this was a trip to encourage us to hold conferences up there – they wanted to make sure we saw some wonderful things that our attendees could enjoy. The first day we went 4-wheeling and kayaking, the next couple of days we visited conference centers, hotels, etc, then the last couple of days we took off by train, went to a ski resort, went on a boat ride out to see glaciers, and stopped at a wildlife reserve, for animals that have needed help. It was a beautiful 5 day trip and we really enjoyed seeing a small part of this state.

Steamboat Springs Colorado

At one of Kimberly’s event planning client parties, Jay won a trip for us to Steamboat Springs. It was such a great weekend getaway!

We spent the first night enjoying a Mexican dinner, and then were up bright and early to hit the ski slopes. Both of us had never skied Steamboat before so we made sure to get up there by 830am. It was an absolutely beautiful day. It had just snowed the night before, and it was still hanging on the beautiful pine trees. As the sun came up over the mountains, it glistened everywhere!

We had an awesome day skiing, and then headed to a B&B for our second nights stay. That evening we went to a little restaurant where you pick your own meat and then grill it on a ‘community grill’...

Keystone Colorado Weekend

Why travel elsewhere when you can find amazing adventures in your own backyard – Keystone, Colorado. It’s not often that we travel up to the Rocky Mountains for the weekend. Since we are so close the mountains, it’s usually a day trip. Up in the morning for a day of skiing, then down that evening. Well, with an occasional stop in Idaho Spring for pizza at Beau Jo’s.

We enjoy skiing at the Keystone Resort, but most often ski at other ski resorts.

I must say, we had a blast on our weekend get away to Keystone. From skiing to hot tubbing, to shopping to dinner, all within eyesight of the slopes! We loved the convenience of staying at the River Run Lodge which is within walking distance to the lifts.

Oregon – Portland, Canby, Tillamook & More

Our quick weekend trip to Oregon for Memorial Day was just what we were looking for. We explored the Oregon Coast (Cannon Beach, Lincoln City & Depoe Bay) saw many seals and crashing surf against the rocks. We stopped in Tillamook to meet Kimberly’s friends Lisa and Adam and visit the Tillamook Cheese Factory to have a taste of delicious cheese and ice cream.

It rained most of the day so we didn’t walk the beaches as much but we enjoyed driving around and seeing the coast just the same. And as was tradition when Kimberly lived in Oregon, we stopped at Mo’s, a great seafood restaurant before heading back. From our table we could watch the seals and otters playing in the water. How fun!

The next couple of days, we spent a great deal of time hiking the hills witnessing the power of Ore...
