It's so nice to be able to say those few words! After almost 6 weeks, our home study agency got all the necessary background checks back, and we are back to where we were on February 17. The news that day was - dossier approved, check, home study reviewed and accepted, check, submit home study for state certification (which takes about a week), submit it to AGCI and then we're on the waitlist! It was the day after hearing this that they recognized that the state background checks were never submitted, the ones they had had for 4 months.
SO - as of today the home study has been sent for state certification, which takes about a week, then they mail it to AGCI, and once received we get the call with our numbers! YEA!!!! I am so looking forward to having 'a number'. Being able to see a number move up on a monthly basis will be an easy guage showing us that there IS indeed progress to bringing our sweet children home.
I'd like to quote a friend who is also going through the adoption process, which really sums up how these last 6 weeks have been. "On a daily basis I am not anxious. I know this is a blessing and I am thankful for other thoughts that fill my day. I have noticed that when I feel worried it is when I am focused on" - the human error that has delayed our process. This friend and I were talking and were "reminded me of Jesus telling us to only take on one days worries at a time. Yes Lord, your burden IS light. I am so thankful for that. I just seem to have the ability to add more and more weight to that burden as I focus on tomorrow and the next day and the next."
Thanking God for His perfect timing!
