"Have you ever seen the wind? I’ve seen the effects of the wind but I’ve never seen the wind.” – Billy Graham. Have you ever wondered about the effects of the wind? How the wind came into existence, into our lives and never has left. Its effects are evident, its touch is at times strong and other times gentle. We sometimes miss the opportunity of the beauty the wind creates day after day. But, at times always see the power and its force. I have seen the gentle breeze flowing freely through the meadows. I’ve seen the shifting winds shuffling white sand along beaches. I’ve seen the faithful flowing breeze carrying small artifacts through and through big cities, rarely letting it fall. I have seen it magically sweep the dying leaves from trees and I’ve seen it pull pure white snow off huge mountains. I have felt the bitter cold wind humble me and felt the summer hot winds, readily announcing its present. I have seen unexplained Hurricanes dramatically rip through states carrying large amounts of debris and unexpected Tornados turn towns upside down. One minute a tree can be vertical, the next horizontal. All this done by something we cannot see.
The wind is something no one has seen, but yet we are certain of its presence. The wind is something much bigger than ourselves. There is yet a greater correlation I want to talk about, something beyond us, bigger than our being yet very evident and present. What I want to talk about next is something that could change your take on life forever. It could touch you strong and/or gently. It could give you an opportunity to experience beauty day after day for the rest of your life. It could dramatically rip through your thoughts and turn you upside down. It could carry you faithfully through and through. Read this next section knowing that yesterday is the past, today is the present, and tomorrow is the future. “You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.” What’s next?
Have you ever seen God? I have seen the effects of God, but I have never seen God. God is someone I have never seen, but I’m certain of His presence. Look around… the beauty of the unreachable sky, the perfect painted sunrises and sunsets, vase beaches and deep colorful oceans, calming green meadows, and the heights of many mountains. The love of people loving one another, the love of someone dying for others is unexplainable. The uncontrollable emotions of awe in the faces of many. What are the effects of God? The effects of God are what you see day in and day out. If you look closely you will see the unmistakable effects of God. People can be empty one minute and full the next. I’ve seen drastic change in peoples lives that no one but only God could have done. I’ve seen subtle changes, only God could have done. I’ve seen God move through, turning their lives upside down carrying them through horrific events, always loving them with a love that is beyond our comprehension. Thousands upon thousands of people coming together to give their lives for something bigger than any human mind can imagine. THIS is the effects of God. I’ve personally experienced change in my life that has brought me from death to life, in many ways literality. A knowledge of love, comfort, hope, peace, joy and an eternal life with God. Words cannot explain the power of that knowledge. Words cannot describe the joy in experiencing God. You will never understand, feel, or comprehend what I’m talking about unless you truly experience it for yourself. You may, right now, be living a good life not wanting change. You may be living a hard life, wanting change. You may be living a hurting life, wanting meaning to it all. You may be living a slow or a fast life. Whatever your situation is at this time, God is there and is watching. He is present and knows where you are. And He is seeking for the souls that want a life beyond this current life. God loves us all. He will meet you wherever you are. You may have heard it before, you may have not. -- “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
Life is not easy, but God offers a life that is pleasing, a knowledge of hope that will forever comfort you and give you peace for eternity. This is an opportunity you may not have tomorrow. You may not have it a year from now. Some have already missed it. We all know that life on this earth is short compared to eternity; it’s but a mist that vanishes.
God said – “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord” and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.”
You may be feeling the presence of God right now. You may be feeling the effects of God calling you to Him. If you don’t want this opportunity to past, if you want God to save you and give you a new life. Read the following prayer to God and God will keep His promise:
Dear God,
I come to You in prayer asking for the forgiveness of my Sins. I confess with my mouth and believe with my heart that Jesus Christ is Your Son, and that He died on the Cross that I may be forgiven and have Eternal Life in the Kingdom of Heaven. God, I believe that Jesus rose from the dead and I ask you right now to come in to my life and be my personal Lord and Savior. God, I thank You for saving me and I thank You for Your everlasting love.
Amen.
This opportunity is a gift. God also said – “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast.
God has not left us in the dark about His great love for us, His creation, and the life He has for us. He gives us guidance and understanding through His written Word. If you don’t have a Bible or if none of this made much sense to you and you would like to know more. Please respond. I will send you a Bible and attempt to answer your questions. If you have a Bible I encourage you to read it. When you truly believe in something, you would want to know everything about it. The Bible is all about God, the life of Jesus Christ, the past, present, future, and how you are to response to life.
