Jeremiah 23:23-24
"Am I only a God nearby,"
declares the Lord,
"and not a God far away?
Can anyone hide in secret places
so that I cannot see him?"
declares the Lord.
"Do not I fill heaven and earth?"
Thoughts:
"Do not I fill heaven and earth" -- What an incredible vision. To know of such transcendence, such power, such vastness. It's hard to comprehend this and I often read right through verses such as this as if I've understand God's omnipresence, surrounding me, even now as I read and study His amazing story.
I ask myself, really? Is God truly here, at this moment, in this room, in your room? In the places around this globe? Is He watching? Can I feel Him? Can I see Him? Shall I not be face flat on the ground if God is here with me now? I am not worthy to live life as I am while walking through the presence of God, every step I take, like walking through the wind day after day. "Do not I fill heaven and earth?" "Am I only a God nearby and not a God far away?" We as mere men need to come to a place where we understand the presence of God and live according to that knowledge.
I believe this new year, will be a year of awareness, a year that we see and recognize the presence of God. A year that will shake some, deceive others and open the eyes of many. "...the Lord is near, do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." - Phil. 4:6-7
