Jeremiah 8:4
When men fall down, do they not get up?
When a man turns away, does he not return?
Thoughts:
This passage is within the setting of God's people just before their destruction and captivity by Babylon. God created within us the will, drive and determination to "get up", to succeed when we have failed, to turn when we have gone the wrong way, to know our weakness and overcome them - but not alone. Who of us can say that I have never had help getting up when from a fall? Every one of us have fallen down, what would happen if no one got back up? What would happen if no one helped us get back up? When a child falls hard, watch their parents or those around them. When an elderly person falls, watch the people around them.
Just as much as we would compassionately help someone from a fall, God even more so with unconditional love is ready to help us up from each fall we have in life. He reaches down from above for our hand to gently pull us out of any fall we have taken. Always there, always willing, always with a love that surpasses all understanding. Don't ignore His hand. Don't ignore His offer to help when we desperately need it.
