Scary Day

So today we had that thing happen that you never want to see. My poor baby Jonah leaned on the gate a little too hard at the top of the stairs - went crashing down to the gate that was at the bottom of the stairs - plowed that one over, and landed on the hardwood floor. I cannot begin to tell you how painful that was for me to watch it, and I wasn't the one lying at the bottom of the floor screaming. We were all upstairs as I was just putting Noah down for a nap before getting Jonah to bed. And then as I'm walking from Noah's room to Jonah's room I see him lean up on the gate and go. Jonah, amazingly enough, has only a couple big bumps on his forehead, a bruise on a hip, and a bruised, slightly swollen hand. He has definitely been cuddly the rest of the day and of course, a little cranky. But, thank the Lord the gate at the bottom, slowed his stop before he fell to the wood floor, and thank the Lord - no broken bones or anything else from what we can tell. My precious boy is now in bed sleeping sound, and this mom is emotionally spent.
