Fingerprints

Who knew getting your fingerprints taken by the police department could be so fun? = ) Today we took the family down to the CS police department and got our fingerprints taken for our adoption. The first 'outing' specifically for our adoption!

We've got the application from the adoption agency pretty much ready to go. We have a huge stack of papers (the first of many) from our home study agency pretty much completed. And are now waiting for October to send in the application. Once they 'approve' us, then we can submit the home study paperwork and begin our homestudy.

Recently, I ran across a scripture that I believe will be a key verse to keep in mind while going through the adoption process. "But these things I plan won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, be patient! For it will surely take place. It will not be late by a single day." Habakkuk 2:3 We hear that the adoption process is a lot of - rush to get stuff done, wait, rush to get stuff done, wait more... And while the waiting can be tough, I want to treasure even those times of waiting - like now. We're just waiting 6 more weeks for them to accept our application based on the criteria of Jonah being 9 months old when we start. And yet through this waiting time and like the others to come, I want to remember that God is preparing our children that are yet to be in our home for us, just as He is preparing Jay, Noah, Jonah and I to be ready for our other children to join us.

God is good - all the time, and I'm so thrilled that He has opened our hearts towards this journey of bringing more children into our family.

Our Adoption

Update: We have now raised a total of $4,450! Thank you dear friends and family. Currently we have paid $17,100 toward our adoption fees.
We are in the process of adopting siblings from Ethiopia. Our next amount that we will need once we receive a referral for our children is approximately $6,000. Thank you for your consideration of helping us bring our children home.
If you would rather make a donation with a check, please contact us for our mailing address. Thank you!
